Course Offering Rotation
Langara Library & Information Technology
The following course offering list is meant to help our program students to determine when courses are offered. Please take the courses when available to prevent delay in your graduation plan (with the exception of LIBR 2419 which should be taken shortly before graduation.). Please verify the prerequisite(s) for each course at https://langara.ca/departments/library-information-technology/pdf/syllabus/index.html. Click on “syllabus” to see the full syllabus for each course, including prerequisites (NB: LIBR 2328 needs its syllabus added; please contact the department chair if you need information about that course).

Spring 2025:

LIBR 1228: Introduction to Technical Services and Circulation (on-campus, online)
LIBR 1219: Field Work I (mixed mode delivery) (intended for in-person students)
LIBR 2416: Reference Resources and Services (on-campus, online)
LIBR 2418: RDA, MARC Coding & Derived Cataloguing (on-campus, online)
LIBR 2419: Field Work II (online) (for in person and online graduating students)
NB: The above courses are always offered in the Spring semester. Note that LIBR 1219 is also offered every second Fall, specifically for online students.
Special Topics:
LIBR 2410: Children’s Services (online)
LIBR 2516: Readers’ Advisory Services (online)
LIBR 2295: Introduction to Records Management (online)
NB: We tend to have space to offer special topics courses mostly in the Spring and Summer
